Fall Foliage Visit to Yosemite – Juxtapose !

I just love Yosemite……last weekend, Dave and I were so blessed to be able to visit Yosemite for the first time at the peak of the fall foliage. Beautiful yellows, oranges and reds all around. I also saw a black bear strolling in a meadow on our last day! That was the first time seeing…

Juli!
These are stunning! I love, love the first one. Wow! And I love the light you got in the 7th one. Also, I’m glad you saw a bear and I was no where around. Lol. I’m pretty sure a bear is going to eat me one day. HA. Anyway, kudos!

Hey Kristin- I know crazy colors huh ? We were there at the very peak of the colors, which was great timing for us. As the sun went down the colors became more vibrant. The bear….OMG…I had my camera in the front seat and was driving a convertible with the top down. I was by myself because my man wasn’t feeling well, so took him back to the room (important detail :-) …anyway, I was driivng along and all of a sudden traffic was at a dead stop in front of me. I looked up and OMG the bear was about 100 yards away !! Of course everyone around was frantically grabbing their “point-n-shoots.” I switched to my 70-200 quickly and got about 5 or 6 shots of him. I was very nervous being the in the convertible with food in the car !! So I didn’t stick around….it was very fun and the first time for me seeing a bear in the wild :-D

Hi, Julie. Those colors almost don’t look real. So crazy bright and just amazing! Of course, I live in West Texas and we don’t really get a fall. And if you get the chance, share with us the details of your bear shot. That momma bear looks HUGE!

Nice work!

Oh wow! I’ve been dreaming of switching to primes only, and it is posts like these that make me want to save even faster! I’d be one happy camper if I had an 85mm prime and a 24mm prime. Color me jealous.
