Humans like to intrinsically help others. It's in our DNA. If you are looking at your wedding day budget and saying, "How can we afford this?" perhaps seeking help from family and friends could be an option. That's right, it's perfectly ok to ask for help in funding different parts of your wedding. Like I mentioned, people like to help!
Would someone in your circle of influence like to help something specific? Maybe the cost of wedding dress? Or how about the venue price tag? Photographer? Flowers? DJ?
How to approach someone:
Open the conversation with honesty. Share your excitement about the wedding and your desire to create a memorable celebration. Be transparent about your financial situation and why you are seeking assistance. Do this over the phone or in person. Texting is not appropriate for this request.
